Art Basel is an international art fair that originated in Switzerland but is also hosted in Wynwood, Miami’s art district sandwiched between Little Haiti and Overtown. Up until ten years ago the area was composed of industrial warehouses that have controversially gentrified into a booming art & bar culture. Basel is one of Miami’s most exciting events with artists from all over the world showcasing their creations and graffiti murals. Locals, tourists, and art collectors all visit the week long event collecting high end pieces, selfies, and Miami culture.
