Veda: Studio Edition

In college, I was originally studying Broadcasting and had a minor in Commercial Photography. Towards the end of my freshman year at Appalachian State, I found myself investing all of my time, energy, and excitement on my photography classes so I said, fuck it. I switched my major to Commercial Photography and never looked back.

I was really into fashion editorial but struggled to find “high fashion” models in lil ole’ Boone. For reference Boone is a tiny hippie town nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. Since I couldn’t find this type of model, I looked for students on campus and around town who were interesting or stunning or even just people with unique wardrobes that caught my eye. And Veda, was 100% one of those people.

Her wardrobe was amazing and ahead of her time. Dr. Marten creepers, thrifted pleated pants, and a combination of vintage thrift to UK glam. I photographed Veda a few times for school projects and always enjoyed choosing outfits from her closet. Here are a few of my favorites.
